The mobile phones manufacturer LG have now released a new Silver LG Viewty to add to their expanding KU990 range of 5.0 megapixel camera phones.
The new LG Viewty Silver edition features a new sleek, silver casing that really sets off the large 3 inch touchscreen, giving it a depth and clarity that could not be appreciated with the older black casing. The idea behind the black version was to meld the casing and screen seamlessly with the phones display background being mostly black and the touchscreen keys also but the new silver casing frames the screen perfectly and gives the device a real smartphone come PDA quality.
As far as features, well, the LG Viewty Silver offers exactly the same technology and features as the original edition so it is not so much an upgrade as it is a new colour variant.
The original version has now enjoyed a complete UK network release meaning that it is now available on all UK networks, the same is not expected of the new Silver Viewty, maybe not making it as far as the 3 Mobile network or possibly even Vodafone but stranger things have happened in the mobile phones industry.
When 3 Mobile took on the original model they decided for whatever reasons to rename the phone from the standard LG KU990 Viewty to LG U990 Viewty, we are not sure what the point was in dropping one letter from the name but it certainly had consumers a little confused and meant a little more work when searching for a good deal, potential customers now have to search the search engines for both KU990 and U990 in order to gain the best deal possible, thanks 3 Mobile.
The LG KU990 Viewty Silver is the successor to the Prada phone by LG who have also announced that they are to release a silver version of the Prada phone in the near future.
The LG Viewty adds a 5 megapixel camera, HSDPA and comes in a fetching black finish with black keys, the new Silver edition features silver rather than black keys but the keys on the touchscreen are still the same. The phone is thicker than the LG Prada phone and slightly heavier aswell, the KU990 has a 3 inch touchscreen with an easy to use interface, users can simply touch the screen with their finger to select the option they require and scroll through the features by sliding their finger across the screen.
The 5.0 megapixel camera has a xenon flash, auto focus and ISO sensitivity adjustment, it can record high quality video at a staggering 120 frames per second and also offers a secondary VGA video calling camera for face to face video calls.
The LG Viewty also features a built-in FM radio, an MP3 player and a video player, a web browser and a document viewer, supporting Pocket Editions of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and supprt for PDF files, but with no WiFi and with the phones advanced media features the LG KU990 Viewty is regarded more as a top end entertainment camera phone than it is a business device.
The Silver LG KU990 Viewty has been launched on both O2 and T-Mobile UK networks and is expected on pay as you go very soon with further network rollouts predicted.

The LG Arena may as well be the best phone released by LG phones yet. They have really made some serious improvements, one improvement worth mentioning is their brilliant S-Class display. The S-Class UI (User interface) designed specially for this phone promises such fluidity that has never been experienced in any of LG’s previous cell phones. One may even say that LG Areena’s S-class UI may as well be the only competitor to iPhone in terms of their extremely smooth and super responsive UI. Another special feature of the S-Class is the 3D desktop cube effect. With this interface you get a cube that has been divided into 4 sections that you can turn around to view any one of the four sides. These are: contacts, widgets, shortcuts and a customizable home screen.
LG Arena has further impressed us with their memory capacity. The LG Arena has an internal memory of 8Gb and can support a microSD card upto 32GB. That makes a total of 40 GB. This even exceeds the capacity of the iPhone.
LG Cell Phones have equipped this phone with a WVGA resolution screen (480 x 800 pixels) as compared to the previous WQVGA resolution screens. This is a major improvement and has to be seen to appreciate it. LG Arena comes with an accelerometer for a screen auto rotate. It also has the infamous pinch zoom capability.
Design:
Unlike other phones by LG, this touch screen marvel does not have any hardware keys. Even the call and call end keys are part of the touch screen. This seems awkward at first but one eventually gets used to it. Above these keys we have the huge display which as mentioned above is of WVGA; 480 x 800 resolution. Such a high resolution gives us more pixels per inch resulting in a more stunning display. Above the display we have the VGA camera for video calls along with the earpiece.
On the left side of the phone we have the USB port, the port is protected by a sliding lid, similar to the one found in viewty. While on the right side of the phone we have the volume rocker keys along with the camera shutter key.
On the top of the phone we have a 3.5mm audio jack, the power key and the back panel release button. The back side of the phone holds the 5 mega pixel camera. The camera has Schneider-Kreuznach optics and is supported by an LED flash. The LED flash here is a disappointment and the 5 MP camera should have been supported by a Xenon or a strobe flash. The LED flash is not a flash at all and is more of a flash light. Near the camera we have a second microphone that is used while recording videos.
Finally some of the more noticable features of the LG Arena are:

* 3G.
* Wi-Fi and GPS.
* 8GB internal memory.
* 3D hardware accelerator.
* DiVX and XViD support.
* Mobile Dolby sound system.
While some of the more noticeable disadvantages of this phone are:
* Poor visibility in sunlight.
* Cannot record in DiVX format.
* Maximum email attachment size is 1 MB.
* Has an LED flash whereas such a camera should have come with either a strobe or xenon flash.

The LG GD900 is an absolutely stunner of a mobile phone. This great looking mobile, is possibly one of the most unique looking phones out at the moment, and will most likely start an entire new craze. What is so unique about the LG GD900, well, it has a transparent keypad. You read that correctly, a transparent keypad. Samsung are known to make stylish phones. Although their mobile phones might not always be the most technologically advanced and user friendly, the fact that they look fantastic and have amazing unique features, more than makes up for this. Oh, did we mention that the transparent keypad is a World First.
The LG GD900 is a slim 13.4mm thick, which means you better keep an eye on it, as you could lose it in your back pocket. The body of the G GD900 is made of polished steel, which gives the mobile phone a very stylish and expensive feel. There are a few accessible buttons just beneath the screen, which are touch-sensitive. The LG GD900 is a slide phone and so the keypad slides out from beneath the screen. As mentioned, the keypad is completely transparent and when touched, it lights up with a blue glow. The buttons are all touch sensitive and react well to the slightest touch. Although the transparent screen is the focus, the LG GD900 does have a fantastic large screen, which dominates the front of the phone.
There is a built-in music player, which is compatible with the popular music formats. Also there is an FM Radio. Camera-wise, not too much is known, but the camera will most likely be a disappointment in terms of spec. It will take reasonable pictures, but don’t expect anything more than a 3.2 mega pixel camera and perhaps 3x digital zoom.
In summary, the LG GD900 is a magnificent looking mobile phone and the world first transparent keypad really sets this phone apart.
